A true local, Shawn was born in DC and raised in Hyattsville next to the train tracks on the property that is now Busboys and Poets and The Palette Apts. After tattooing in the area for 20 years, in June of 2018 he opened Whistle Stop Studio with his wife Michelle. Shawn enjoys tattooing classic American and Asian designs, fishing, cycling, hops, cast iron and good times.  He has sung in punk bands since his teenage years and is currently the lead vocalist in the bands Dag Nasty, Red Hare & P.O.A.
